History
This woman presented at the age of seventy years with anorexia, weight loss, diarrhoea
and haematuria. A mass was palpable in the abdomen; at operation this tumour was found in the
retroperitoneal tissues; there were multiple satellite lesions present in the abdomen. The
histology of the lesion is that of a malignant Schwannoma; she died some twelve months later
with disseminated intra-abdominal disease and large bowel obstruction.
